About Me

I started learning the violin at the age of three under the Suzuki method in New Zealand, which is a method that focuses on learning by ear. I also learned to read music at a young age at the same time. This allowed me to also join orchestral groups from a younger age. I went on to sit the Royal College and Trinity board examinations which I completed with distinctions, one of which I got an award for the highest mark in New Zealand, my grade 8 at the age of 9 years old. I learned violin privately from many great teachers in New Zealand, Australia, then later in Italy, London, and New York where I got my BMus in Performance from the Juilliard school of Music. Many of these teachers had different methods and focuses, but I gained great practice habits and learned to think in different ways when approaching repertoire. I have played in many professional orchestras including the London Symphony, the London Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic and the New Zealand Symphony. I have taught students myself for 10 years now, and currently enjoy teaching around 20 private pupils
